From a young teenager growing up in south Florida to settling down in Key West, Florida in the late 70's , Captain Ron Barton grew up with the ocean in his backyard. Fishing, diving and exploring the ocean waters was his passion.

With 50 years of experience as a boat captain, Ron brings unmatched experience and a lifetime of stories to every trip.

While on vacation he and his wife visited Homosassa and fell in love with the magic of the old Florida landscape and natural beauty of the surrounding bay waters. Moving to Homosassa in 2009, Captain Ron soon became affectionately known as the Manatee Whisperer, with his special appreciation for Homosassa's manatees, his knowledge of the local waters and passion for wildlife make every outing a memorable adventure.

For Ron, this is more than a job. It is a lifelong love of the sea and sharing its wonders with others.
